The Chinese New Year is one of Singapore’s biggest celebrations, filled with colorful traditions, family gatherings, and citywide festivities. While the holiday brings great energy to the city, it also temporarily affects the working schedule of immigration and related government services.
During the 17 February – 23 February period, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) is experiencing a higher number of submissions, leading to temporary queue congestion and a processing backlog.
As a result, some Singapore applications may take a little longer than usual. This delay is happening at the authority level and is not related to your documents or submission quality.
To avoid inconvenience, we suggest you:
- Apply earlier than your intended travel date
- Avoid last-minute travel planning during this period
- Keep an eye on your email for updates or additional requests
Processing times are expected to return to normal after 23 February once the queue clears.
