Singapore is getting a new wildlife reserve! Set to launch in March 2025, Rainforest Wild Asia at Mandai Wildlife Reserve will offer an immersive journey into the rich rainforests of Southeast Asia. As the fifth park in the Mandai complex, Rainforest Wild Asia provides an accessible, family-friendly experience alongside thrilling options for adventure-seekers.
Spanning 13 hectares, this new park features a variety of trails and zones that make the rainforest accessible to all ages and abilities. Visitors can explore stroller-friendly paths or rugged forest trails with logs and bridges for a more adventurous trek. Thoughtfully placed rest spots will ensure comfort even in the tropical environment, allowing visitors to enjoy the journey at their own pace.
Rainforest Wild Asia showcases the region’s incredible biodiversity with habitats that resemble natural settings. Guests can encounter rare species like François’ langurs, Philippine spotted deer, red dholes, and babirusas. The park’s design allows guests to observe these animals up close while learning about their unique behaviors and the importance of conservation.
The park’s ten themed zones take visitors through various layers of the rainforest, each offering something different. “The Karsts” zone, with its jagged limestone rocks, features a via Ferrata climbing path for those seeking a thrill and provides a great view of primates swinging through the trees.
At “The Forest Floor,” guests can encounter the majestic Malayan tiger in a habitat that mimics the rainforest’s lower layers. The experience culminates in “The Cavern,” an underground journey inspired by Malaysia’s Mulu Caves, where visitors can explore safely and meet species like racer snakes and giant scorpions.
Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s commitment to conservation is evident throughout Rainforest Wild Asia, with nearly 7,000 native trees planted to enrich the landscape and support biodiversity. This new park invites guests to connect deeply with nature while fostering an appreciation for Southeast Asia’s rainforests.
Looking forward, Mandai will also add “Rainforest Wild Africa,” further enhancing its position as a global leader in wildlife tourism and conservation. Rainforest Wild Asia promises a unique mix of adventure, wildlife encounters, and conservation values that make it a leading tourist destination.
