Experience Festival Nights in Singapore During Ramadan Season

As the sacred month of Ramadan begins, Singapore transforms parts of its city with evening bazaars after sunset from 16 February to 18 March 2026. The most popular ones take place in Geylang Serai and Kampong Glam, while smaller markets/bazaars appear in other neighborhoods as well. It is not just about grabbing food or shopping. Each evening will feel like stepping into a month-long celebration that is filled with energy, culture, and community.

During the daytime, you will not get to see much activity at the bazaars. Vendors usually prepare food, set up stalls, and get everything ready. But in the late afternoon, the area becomes quite busy. If you are there, you will notice long lines in front of every shop. People who are fasting usually come to buy food before sunset. And, families often order many dishes at once, and the stalls work very quickly.

When the sun sets, everything slows down for a short time. People sit together and break their fast. After eating, many go to the mosque for prayer, so the crowd becomes quieter for a while.

Around 8:30 PM, the atmosphere changes again. More people arrive, including locals, tourists, and families. If you walk through the market, you will smell grilled food and sweet drinks. You can try desserts and snacks over there. You can also shop for Eid clothes, perfumes, gifts, and home decorations. You will also witness some cultural performances such as traditional Malay dance and music, so it feels like a celebration rather than just a market.

Later at night, families will start to leave, and younger people stay a little longer. You will see friends walking around, taking photos, and enjoying desserts. It feels lively but still comfortable and family-friendly.

At the same time, the city continues with its regular activities. During the day, you may see business events, sports competitions, and conferences happening around Singapore. At night, many people gather at the Ramadan bazaars, whether they are fasting or not.

For one long month, you can experience two sides of the city. You will enjoy the calm of the daytime, and then the city surprises you with lively cultural nights. That is what makes this period in Singapore special.
