Singapore Airlines (SIA) is gearing up for a significant expansion in response to increased travel demand during the 2025 Northern Summer season, from March 30 to October 25. The airline will boost its flight frequency and passenger capacity on several key routes.
Beginning March 30, 2025, SIA will elevate its service to London Gatwick, offering daily flights instead of the current five per week. This will be in addition to the four daily flights already operating to London Heathrow, resulting in five daily connections to the UK capital.
Flights to Rome will increase from four to five times weekly between June 26 and August 28, 2025. The Singapore-Milan-Barcelona route will undergo significant changes from June 24 to September 7, 2025, with direct flights to each city becoming more frequent. Barcelona will see a boost from two to five direct flights weekly, while Milan will move to daily flights, up from four times a week.
In addition, SIA will enhance its service to Adelaide, increasing from seven to 10 flights weekly during the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons. Flights to Ho Chi Minh City will rise to three times daily, and service to Siem Reap will double to twice daily.
Johannesburg will benefit from increased connectivity, with three additional weekly flights scheduled from December 11, 2024, to January 10, 2025, and again from April 2 to October 24, 2025. This adjustment will bring the total to 10 weekly flights during these periods, up from the current daily service.
The Airbus A380 will return to one of the two daily Tokyo (Narita) routes from March 30 to May 31, 2025, replacing the Boeing 787-10. Meanwhile, the A380 will be replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER on the Mumbai and Delhi routes during mid-2025.
As part of these changes, SIA will discontinue its service to Houston via Manchester from April 1, 2025, while maintaining five weekly flights from Singapore to Manchester.
Mr. Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, remarked: “These network adjustments are designed to meet the increased demand for travel to various destinations during the traditional mid-year peak season, allowing our customers to plan their 2025 journeys with confidence.”
